NOCO: Behind The Scenes

NOCO, a US-based brand known for battery chargers and jump starters, asked us to produce an advert promoting their sponsorship of Sheffield United. Their products are designed to be simple, reliable solutions for drivers, and this campaign was about showing that in action.

The story followed three fans returning to their car after a match, only to find the battery dead. Billy Sharp, Sheffield United legend, arrives with the NOCO Boost to get them moving again.

Pre-production

Ahead of the shoot we carried out site visits and recces to map out how the concept would work on location. Because part of the film relied on showing the end of a live game, we sourced approval from the EFL to fly a drone at full-time, capturing the final whistle and fans leaving the stadium. We also coordinated with stadium security to ensure the filming location remained safe and secure throughout production.

Overnight Production

The advert was filmed across one night, with our crew covering all production roles including director, camera operator, sound recordist, photographer and BTS photographer. We worked with three models alongside Billy Sharp to deliver the story in a way that felt authentic and engaging.

Creating the Look

Lighting was central to achieving the right feel. We used two Aputure LS 600X Pro lights through a large diffusion panel, along with additional kit, to craft a cinematic night-time atmosphere. The setup gave us control while keeping the action believable for the scene.

Delivery

The final advert blended live stadium footage with a scripted sequence, showcasing the NOCO Boost in action against the backdrop of Sheffield United. The result was a piece that highlights the product’s reliability while strengthening NOCO’s sponsorship presence.
