2020 has been one hell of a ride! We grew our team, rebranded & revamped our site, and worked on some standout shoots (including a commercial for Sky), all whilst in the midst of a pandemic. Cue the highlights…
WE WENT ON SOME STANDOUT SHOOTS
One of the first projects we kicked 2020 off with was the MlkMen launch. We headed down to Canary Wharf, shooting a sock collection inspired by milkshake flavours. Think pink backdrops, colourful lighting, and striking models. Watch here.
Back in London again, we captured Let’s Talk Shop — a Soho-based pop-up event taking those lucky enough to bag themselves an invite through Skinnydip’s e-commerce journey. Check out the film here.
We even managed to hop on board Made in Hull for the second year in a row, going on our last Dutch dash before the COVID curveballs were thrown our way. Didn’t get a ticket? Watch the highlights here.
OUR TEAM GREW
In March, we added Harry to our team who filled the role of video editor. He gets stuck in with all of our projects, taking films from the first stage through to the final edit.
We can confirm his first impression of a ‘relaxed office atmosphere’ was short lived once he got involved with our nerf gun wars.
WE WORKED FROM HOME
As lockdown commenced, we could no longer travel and visit businesses, so we had to rethink the way we did things. We were left with little choice but to adapt to the situation and persevere through.
SHOWREEL SWITCH UP
We spent a fair bit of lockdown visually experimenting. Since our previous reel hit screens in 2019, we’d worked on a tonne of exciting projects. So, we wrapped these up in a fresh, showstopping showreel.
REBRAND AND WEBSITE REVAMP
From branding and design, right down to our strategy and services, 2020 has seen us have a complete rebrand.
First things first, our logo & website underwent a makeover. We cut out corporate copy and injected playfulness, plus we added two extra services to our offering — strategy and creative. You can catch more of the deets in our rebrand blog post.
WE TURNED THREE (AND PARTIED HARD)
What other way to celebrate three years of NV than with an office party?! Beer pong, Cards Against Humanity, and a few rounds of FIFA were on the roster. And it’s safe to say we had a few sore heads the next morning.
OUR COMMERCIAL WENT ON SKY TV
We partnered up with creative agency, Drunk Animal, to produce a commercial for Peter Ward Homes’ latest luxury development. Using Sky AdSmart, the film targeted thousands of potential home buyers across East Yorkshire.
FINISHING THE YEAR WITH A BANG
Izzy finished her digital marketing apprenticeship, passing all three exams (albeit the coding multiple choice may have taken her three attempts…), and is now awaiting her final assessment. She’s staying with team NV, upgrading to Digital Marketing Exec.
