2019 WRAPPED

By December 31, 2019 August 12th, 2020 No Comments

2019 has been one hell of a ride! From expanding our office & growing our team, to working on some of our most exciting projects to date. As we draw the curtains on another year, it’s time to take a look back on the highlights.

Award winning start

We kicked off 2019 by taking #4 spot on Clutch’s list of the best video production companies. Clutch, a B2B research and reviews firm, ranked us based on our customer feedback, thought leadership, and overall reputation in the creative & design category.

Our team grew

In June we welcomed Izzy, our Digital Marketing & Content Producer. Working behind the scenes – marketing strategies, social posts, and email responses are just some of the things she sinks her teeth into.

Looking into 2020, we’re currently in the process of recruiting more editors to further expand team NV. If you think you might be a good fit, drop us an email – you can find our contact details here.

We expanded our office (& had a major glow-up)

If there was an award for office glow-up of the year, ours would definitely be a strong competitor. If you haven’t already been given the grand tour, we knocked through the wall of our old office and expanded into a larger space next door. Taking the office from old & drab to urban & artsy, we revamped everything from the wall décor right down to the flooring. We even crafted & created the new office desks ourselves!

Our stand-out moments

2019 was jam-packed with exciting (and sometimes challenging) projects, from documentaries & interviews galore, to festival highlights & everything in-between.

Our year commenced with Waltham Forest, London Borough of Culture 2019. Initially creating the official launch film, to then filming & editing some of their major events such as Africa Express, Chingfest, and Forest Uprising.

In March, we joined P&O Ferries & The Sesh on-board for “Made in Hull”, a Dutch dash featuring some of the best of Hull’s live music scene. We’ll be back in Feb 2020 for its 4th year; beer in one hand, camera in the other!

You won’t have passed through Hull’s Old Town without noticing the city’s most prestigious development to date – The Glasshouse. Whilst the apartments were still under construction, we were making the most of the Summer sun, capturing its surroundings in their best light!

If you felt Hull became particularly friendly this year, we like to think we played a part in that. Our involvement with social project, Chatty Hull, saw us capture 3 scenes that were used to encourage conversation & kind gestures. Let’s make sure we don’t leave that in 2019!

Next on our list is the blossoming of our relationship with Trident. We spent two days at their Hull HQ, capturing their incredible people and company culture. From ping-pong tournaments to tea on tap, it won’t be long before we steal some of their ideas for our office – film coming soon!

Autumn wasn’t spent kicking up colourful leaves, as we were filming a whopping 120+ interviews over 6 weeks for various business & community awards across Hull, Lincolnshire & Grimsby. Seeing our films come to life after all the hard work left us with an immense feeling of achievement!

Finishing the year with a bang, we joined forces again with Waltham Forest as they wrapped up their year as the first London Borough of Culture. We edited day & night (literally) to produce the ultimate highlights film, encompassing all that was on offer over the past 12 months.
